problems re installing 10.04 lucid have been using lucid sometime on acer 1 net book small hard drive 8gb.recently whilst streaming picked bug froze system.i attempted usuall disconnection procedure system not reboot.i attempted re install lucid went smoothly untill encountered error message when aborted install , attempted repeat procedure when hard drive appeared have been wiped clean no system available on computer.having tried use boot repair, when begin install asked want put ubuntu net book 10.04 giving me option either eraze , use entire disk, , below shown drive scs12(000)(sda)8.1gb ata p-ssd 1800 , below option shown specify partitions manually (advanced) .which ever option chose keep getting error message stating ubuntu net book 10.04 detecting file system input/output error during write on /dev/sda. can boot system live usb flash drive error messages when try install system.can please. thread closed.

any ideas why highpass filter not working in photoshop cc? fill layer 50% gray , try use highpass. shows no edges. that's not how use it.  either copy bacground layer, or add copy merged layer top of stack (shift ctrl alt e) , use highpass on layer.   i'm guessing know set blend mode overlay, or 1 of blend modes below overlay, see sharpen effect? this is  recent phenomonom, shade of objects changes depending on vertical position on artboard. if move object top of artboard bottom becomes lighter, , these changes remain after saved png- driving me crazy!!! slight, still enough cause headache. if @ image can see top blue box darker blue box @ bottom, event though exact same box copied , pasted down artboard.   i see colors identical, , when sample them eyedropper tool show same color in color panel. i working 200x200px image image created in 8 bit color mode , 72px resolution.   when tried save web png-24 image, said size 20.8k. however, when chnages image size 190x190px, new image size 28.4k.   i reduced image 5% size of increased... how possible?   thanks!   update: i recreated psd @ size 190x190px , smaller size when saved against original 1 above. mean have recreate psd of same image each different size need save as? not sure aere getting at. png compressed format , image dimensions 1 factor. things number of colors, size of discrete areas same color , lot of other factors matter ore more width , height. resampling image may in fact increase number of colors due blending sharp colors lots of mixed tones. using 24bit png, means transparency values per pixel stored, alone account 1 third of file size. , of course things metadata , on figure in. technical point normal. feel free experiment settings , workflows improve matters.   mylenium More discussions in Photoshop General

hi, new ubuntu here , trying figure out if have hardware problem. first time installed ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) on new laptop, asus ux32vd 2 months ago. keyboard froze partially. partially in general first 1-3 buttons in each row (from left) works, nothing else. things note: 1) external keyboard plucked usb port works fine. 2) keyboard doesn't work during startup (no entering bios or choosing grub menu). 3) keyboard doesn't work if boot ubuntu live usb stick. problem appeared first after start while few hours earlier trying fix apparently classic problem freezing after suspend trying various forum tips. including updating kernel (booting old version of kernel not solve problem) , tip in thread (deleting files again since didn't work). not problems keyboard arose here, , restarted final time after playing around check if had screwed up. so, question: idea if have hardware problem , check it? i for

alright, i'm done yelling @ world this.  here step step list of issue , attempts @ resolving it:   i'm on mac. 10.9.1, 16gb ram.   working on premiere pro cc.   - feature doc project on 4tbs of footage.  cameras used dslr, canon c300, sony pmw 200 , externally recorded audio.   - throughout life of project i’ve moved around scratch disk folders , media cache files folder without problems.   - last saturday, plugged in old duet (which had been freezing computer earlier) playback edit external speakers.  froze computer , had restart.  when opened project again, added single band compressor master output of project timeline in order play through internal speakers more volume.  worked fine.  closed project , went lunch.  when got , opened project again, received error:     -since then, every time i’ve opened project or other existing projects (as far can tell), error or general “a serious error has occurred”… , premiere crashes.   - followed advice on these forums , cleared media c

hi ! i'm audition cs6 user. love software, have little problem. during playback in multitrack session, when i'm loading vst effect or internal auditon effect, there is, every time @ moment, short cut of sound. it's boring , didn't have trouble audition 3. i have same problem when want group tracks, @ moment, during playback, same short cut, or mute.     i don't find answer in settings, have got solution ?     thank in advance , merry xmas ! i don't think intended should add effects or change grouping whilst playback on going. audition has adjust tracks delay might required keep tracks synchronised. suspect has reload audio buffers take account of causes brief break or mute whilst so. load effects might use effects rack before start playback. can switch effects in , out of circuit without breaks since believe effects in rack catered if not active. hello. i've installed version. beautiful, though colors of 7.4better. installation smoother, automatically recognized (minus printer, oh well...)and monitor set right resolution. problem is, if replace iso disk in drive maybe install application, once iso disk in, that's it. cannot retrieve if change mind. promptly starts , displays boot menu. boot menu not have exit or abort installation link. more, when trying remove disk pressing on drive's button, nothing happens. press old dos ctrl+alt+delete keys , computer soft boots. while booting, trying eject disk pressing drive's button. nothing happens, drive remains locked. when hard boot, can eject disk. of course no good, power supplies expensive nowadays. why 12.04 doesn't have menu item abort installation or enable me eject disk (if forget in drive) don't quite understand, i've never encountered software didn't have command bailout. issue: cannot run iso disk l

i've been using pse , cs years.   one thing have never understood is: why use layer masks , adjustment layers, instead of creating copy of subject layer (the 1 want make changes to) , experimenting that?  it's quick (ctrl-j), can many times want, i'm not affecting background layer.  if changes, can keep them.  can switch copy on , off compare background layer.  can type of blend or combination desire.  can insert gradient layer(s), select part of copy , (ctrl-j) create new layer containing selected part.  can adjust size, rotate, anything.   it seems "layer mask" , "adjustment layer" layer of terminology; can explain (preferably in 50 words or less) how intrinsically different or superior working copies of background layer?  can done them can't done using copies of background layer? let's start adjustment layers. adjustment layers layers in layer palette. but: real layers made of pixels. each pixel has r,g,b value. adjustment layers not pixels.

i recenty upgraded old vista pc new 1 running windows 7.  guy transfered files , application software.  i'm running elements 11 along organizer.  shoot in nikon raw (.nef), open in organizer, edit , save in elements jpg format.  new photos work fine, old files have lost associativity between original raw file , resulting jpg.  there way can restore associativity files transferred old pc? unfortunately, link between originals , edited version create 'version sets' managed organizer stores information in database when 'save as'. it's not property of single file, tags, ratings or captions; means can't store information in file contrary tags 'write metadata files'. it's not either property can assign set of pictures, albums or stacks.   there 2 possible answers in case. the first 1 catalog folders in old computer. correct way transfer files , catalogs new computer have been use backup , restore method: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/b
