using ubuntu 12.04 when creating launchers or using command line, e.g. "nautilus folder-name," i've attempted use --geometry= option, seems have no effect whatsoever. no other instances of nautilus running when attempt this. also, on various web sites, have found parameters specified as: --geometry=widthxheight+horizontal_location+vertical _location (all in pixels presume) , seems horizontal , vertical locations optional. man page, looked might need add "--no-desktop" option override settings nautilus preferences, although found nothing in preferences related window positioning. in case, made no difference either. should mention have "fixed window" setting nautilus in compiz-config-settings manager. override command line options? help. i see issue. doesn't appear related compiz, if switch metacity issues still appears. here's 1 that's got me stumped.   i opened ongoing project today , received missing effect message colorista.  upon further investigation, find there several effects missing, red giant.   magic bullet colorista magic bullet looks magic bullet misfire (partial) knoll light factory trapcode   i copied these effects on cs6 on same windows 7 edit machine, , show fine there.   after effects cc sees them fine same install location.   i moved effects out of mediacore folder, started pp, moved effects in.   i copied them on windows 8.1 personal system, , work fine in cc there.   i reset plugins shift during start.   i reset shift+alt.   i deleted full 7.0 preferences folder in documents.   i uninstalled, rebooted, ran cleaner, reinstalled.   nothing works.  premiere pro cc on edit system not see effects, though ae , cs6 on same machine see them fine, , cc on second machine sees them fine.   you guys see might have missed?  haven't tried yet? are win7 , win8.1 systems running same

i have lengthy (4gb/2 hours) wmv file trying import premeir pro 6.0.0 recorded logitec webcam. given error message "the file cannot opened because of header error." file not corrupted, plays fine in windows media player. has found solution problem in past? you might need export microsoft media encoder.   however, before try that, try renaming copy of file .mp4 instead of .wmv see if premiere pro routes different part of code. i converting 70+ page contract template livecycle designer 9.0.0.2 , accomplish creating permanent bookmarks when users open form in adobe.  using info link, http://forums.adobe.com/message/4013698 , i'm able set initial view open showing bookmarks panel.  right now, still finishing master form, when re-open in livecycle, setting goes away.  once finished form, re-set initial view.  same bookmarks. can create bookmark table of contents contract, if open in livecycle modify contents, have re-create extensive bookmarks list in adobe again.   is there efficient way bookmarks remain?  have been reading , downloaded examples of how create them using xml, not quite there in understanding how implement.   also, there way retain bookmarks if printed pdf?  in cases final version of document printed pdf can further use comment/mark-up functionality in adobe.  though i've enabled form reader extensions (we use professional version - reader remote users), not able use mark-up/commenting fu

hello, using ubuntu 12.10 32-bit on laptop dell inspiron n4030 ati mobility radeon hd 5430 series. problem is: when laptop on ac adapter , cpu frequency maximum (2.39 ghz), that's make out loud fan , try change frequency, returns automatically (to maximum) long laptop plugged in. on other hand ubuntu seems (automatically) scaling processors correctly in battery-mode . nevertheless cannot change cpu frequency in cases. do? can't work comfortably when laptop plugged in ac adapter! this surely controlled bios. should check bios settings in regards performance, when on ac mode, there should "balanced mode" (allowing scaling, , controlling noise of fan), set max performance when on ac mode. hi, . . small problem occurred today in ubuntu 12.04 installed inside windows 7 using wubi. have installed kde in , including login screen has been changed. today thought of upgrading 12.10. runmand. asked me somening outta memory wanted uninstall kde , did run long comthing in middle kde daemon default , want remove it(something like, don't remember exactly) selected yes. how actual problem started. if select ubuntu normal boot @ startup, dialogue box appears saying computer running in low graphics mode, press okay manually configure. kde startup wheel appears before dialog box. can assure kde not uninstalled. if press okay dialogue box appears following 4 options run in low-graphics mode 1 session reconfigure graphics troubleshoot error exit console login unfortunately, can't select of these options using either up-down keys , don't mouse pointer. if reboot pressing , holding power button '-&

i installed 12.10 on usb hard disk. booted fine, , ran smooth. problem cant suspend or hibernate it. wont suspend if battery low. keeps running till battery dies. brings me next issue, last night ran out of charge when away, , boot-up speed soooo slooow. 30 seconds, boot-up time jubootupmped 4 minuts or so. suggestions? the reason may have rebooted because if powered off without shutting down considers partitions unclean , runs fsck check them when boots. although, if continues boot on subsequent boots, not sure issue is. have never had luck doing suspend or hibernate when booted usb. best set power settings shutdown when lid closed, power button pressed, or low battery. i've completed testing first encore bluray project, , works fine in preview , in check project.  when try build either file or bluray disc error cannot use file because it's in pending state.  it's h.264 file apple compressor encoded bluray stream.  see in project panel 3 of files created using compressor "untranscoded" in dvd transcode status column.    i don't know next.  thanks.
