Thread: script parameters conditional on server boot

i wish create script called on both boot , when user logs in. such, of parameters (specifically .config files) different depending on whether machine booting or user logging in. there means capture conditional in init script?

not want use upstart, reasons not go into, please don't suggest this.

guess question is:

there boolean, example, can capture captures state of machine i.e. if bootingup = true .... else ....

or alternatively how capture error logname, i.e. when there no logname, or no 1 logged system , use boolean.

ideas welcome.

cheers,

wimwam

who --count returns number of users logged in. if it's 0, means it's booting. if it's > 0, means it's logging in.

how launching @ boot time if you're not using upstart?
