i using 12.04 ubuntu on asus and, since installed it, whenever update manager asks me update/upgrade states partial update/upgrade possible i've gone settings , ticked every possible box take updates possible servers , sources keeps on showing partial update possible.... had same issue? have tried opening terminal , running sudo apt-get update , possibly either sudo apt-get upgrade or sudo apt-get dist-upgrade ? (dvd)?”     the download executable, perhaps have internet security product blocking it.  try temporarily disabling such software before click on download now.  works ok me when tried it, us, anyway.  might try different browser in case in browser blocking it. i have bought new imac running mavericks , used migration assistant migrate old imac. i have switched ubuntu 10.10 12.04. after doing this, computer reboots several times day , has never acted way before. have average uptime of 3 weeks previous distros on same hardware. @ point can safely not temperature or fan related issue. when system reboots, restarts , stays stuck on normal motherboard boot screen. @ point hard reset , when comes on i'll see screenshot of monitor displaying @ moment reset. flashes on second , goes login screen.
