a strange 1 (then again, i'm missing obvious here). i've been using brcmsmac months, in 12.10 (with latest kernel) it's buggy me - disconnecting every few minutes, while network-manager still thinks it's connected. manual disconnect , reconnect through network-manager fixes things, few minutes. switched sta driver. took few hours of trial , error work, it's working. is, if i code: sudo modprobe wl after each boot. otherwise, nothing. network-manager doesn't think has wireless card available. "enable wireless" missing, , "enable networking" checked. after run modprobe command above, automagically sees card, , uses connect. i've added command /etc/rc.local, feels hacky. there way make card become 'alive' on each boot without modprobe? needless say, never happened me while using brcmsmac. details can give - ask away, naturally. ubuntu 12.10, dell inspiron 13r (n3010), bcm4313 [14

before installation of 12.04 server read lot on forum raid install , problems grub not being able boot other raid 1 array. had no problem @ installation on raid 6 array (5 disks) using mdadm. did using alternate 12.04 cd: 1. choose manual partion 2. wipe 5 drives 3. assign drives raid 6 array 4. create lvm volume group , assign the raid 6 array group 5. create 3 volumes; boot, swap , / 6. installed grub (grub2) boots without problems. seems true, did forgot anything? no, seems right. raid problems grub affecting fakeraid seems, not software raid (mdadm). on top of that, since live cd can see fakeraid, people keep using install despite recommendation use alternate cd raid. alternate installs grub on fakeraid without problems, live cd fails this. hello, using ubuntu 12.04 64bit , it. windows , memtest86 both saying have 8155mb full use. , windows have 8gb on computer properties. ubuntu says have 7.8gib in system monitor. booted fedora 64bit live cd , says same thing. why?? far can tell, there nothing wrong memory. use dedicated gpu, no igp stealing memory. how ram memory having in system monitor? display less memory in windows or memtest? assuming have no igp. worried since new pc. thanks, windows displays installed physical memory while ubuntu displays usable memory. if dig bit deeper in windows, going resource monitor, should see total closer ubuntu reporting. i have looping animation.. rocketship clouds passing making flying.   the 2 clouds , rocket flame set loop/repeat.. on coarse of couple minutes, animation slows wayyy down , evetualy renders actual browser page useless / super slow.   it appears animation killing memory.. how reset this? there code allows animation repeat w/o taking away rest of page's cache/ memory? for me, looking similar foobar2000. so, after years of toying usual suspects rhythmbox, banshee, amarok , others, found faforite(s). i'm using 2 music players... 1) i've grown appreciate deadbeef . music player similar in user experience foobar2000, bit more basic that. sound fantastic , included equalizer spot on. while ha s wide variety of plugins included, added file browser plugin easy access music. 2) guayadeque music player well. more feature-rich deadbeef , highly customizable. mpore of cross between foobar2000 , winamp in opinion. excellent sound , big plus me it's ability scan , watch large music folders. have external drive 252,000+ mp3, , scanned , ready use in 3 hours. while others mentioned in introduction above either took days to same or continually crashed. each enough don't want settle on one. depends on mood, suppose. overall, love both of these players , use each regularly. deadbeef : click image full resolution

having installed fuji camera software , epson v500 scanner software, won't anything, have installed licensed version of photoshop elements 9.  being w8.1 32-bit system had download several drivers adobe site.   start it, click edit, file>open , find , open 2 photos.  go documentation tells me click file>photoshop panorama, , everytime error message is:- adobe photoshop elements 9 has stopped working problem caused program stop working correctly. ....... etc etc   so have uninstalled pse doing restore remove fuji & epson, reinstalled (this time didn't download drivers), run dism found & rectified problem, sfc scan found no problems.  run pse admin, , still same error on selecting file>photoshop panorama.   have paint shop pro x can job using manual methods align photos - should use this, or pse or else job simply, , properly? i have installed ubuntu 12.04 disc came 'linux complete manual' magazine, bought out of curiosity. on toshiba satellite l755 1gj laptop, sits pre-installed windows 7, 64 bit, dual boot. install seemed go ok when started new os didn't feel right seemed better after few hours use. added windows networked, hp 309a printer, via wlan same way connect laptop using windows (homegroup network, 2 lan connected desktop computers) connected ok , able print documents , web pages no apparent problems, once worked out how use printer in ubuntu. looked adding firewall application, firestarter, recommended in magazine , followed install instructions magazine after downloading, done following instructions mag. there error on installing, not sure exactly, 'active connections'. going uninstal right away, program seemed ok not display active connections. not knowing if normal or not in instances went online , seemed ok. configured firewall, again following ins
