i associate default application file type "the old way" using filename extension (*.doc etc.) instead of file contents. reason increasing number of applications using xml file format. xml type files - if use different filename extensions - can associated 1 application. install 'file types editor' a.k.a. assogiate . add new file type. can give number of attributes. important filename, should *.<your extension here>. file name patterns take precedence on file contents or xml elements. if mime susbsystem detects file xml, should identify file correctly. of course, more elegant way specify xml elements file type can tricky. 1 new file type created, can associate application within thunar or xfce4's mime type editor. cheers! hi, installed fresh ubuntu (ubuntu-12.10-server-amd64.iso) in vmware vm. beside changing language/keylayout german, disabled dhcp , assigned static ip. furthermore installed openssh. i use cc between 2010 imac , 2013 macbook pro, both running latest version of mavericks.   i have been working on files last 3 days, using cc sync them between 2 computers. earlier evening, got message there issue server. seemed resolved, since, appear have lost 1 out of on 30 files. not showing on either computer, , not showing when log on cc site , got files.   fortunately, when experienced server issue, copied files dropbox, have managed salvaged work, not first time experiencing disapearing files, although until now, 1 occasionally, first time many files go missing @ once. starting wonder whether should revert using dropbox rather cc.   can isolating issue , resolve please?   thank you we investigating. email once know more. email kenrice@adobe.com . i repartitioning hard drive. had had backtrack on partition previously, deleted when upgraded ubuntu via flash drive because of networking issues 12.04. going use backtrack partition backup area reinstall windows 7 if windows 8 turns out suck. since windows disk manager wouldn't tell me partitions, went ubuntu. after deleting backtrack partition (/dev/sda4) rebooted go windows , upgrade. instead "grub rescue" command line. positive did not delete boot partition - 96 gb. before did disks, got error message saying ubuntu 12.10 has experienced internal error. reported , thought nothing of since system appeared continue working properly. on live usb. how remount everything? know sure windows sda1, win recovery sda2, , ubuntu sda5. deleted sda4. please help! actually, while in grub rescue did incredibly stupid. overwrote windows boot partition. oh well, @ least have disks need reinstall it, , didn't

i have posted forms on our website , once did that, submit button no longer works.  works fine through documents when open forms way, our clients need click on form on our website, complete form, click 'submit';  how activate submit button on forms clients can submit them after filling them out through our website? the submit button should work if form opened in adobe reader (or acrobat). problem many web borwsers have built-in pdf viewers have limited or no support forms. limited support don't support submitting. browser/os combinations can configured rader opens in browser, or opens pdf in reader outside of browser. see if can figure out being used view form users. downloaded, download assistant apeared on desktop.  follow icons , prompts until 2 folders.  1 says pse 12 , other says read me.   when click on pse 12 there multiple folders in it.  do installed , usable? generally, download assistant should start installation automatically if didn't can go folder extracted files saved , setup.exe file , double-click on , follow online instructions.   hope helps. i've been working on project while friend, it's ready first release, thought i'd post here , response/critique. mods: feel free move this! shredder premise: need securely delete files, know (if don't, jolly should!) data still on disk until overwritten. don't want overwrite entire disk, however. solution: overwrite files random data again , again, no data left. programs shred , srm do. however, you're not cli person. came shredder, scrubs files random data, removes them filesystem table if wished, through nice gui frontend. sound good? well, there zipped 64-bit .deb installer attached (sorry on 32-bit, haven't got 32-bit box build on), source tarball ( typical installation: make, sudo make install) limitations/disclaimer: many filesystems can , keep fragments, copies, , snapshots of files, can't guarantee file gone. if want gone forever, suggest along lines of darik's boot , nuke, wipe disk. if want project,

hi all! new ubuntu , first of let me start of saying love it! better windows 7 , as os x (it seems ubuntu borrowed lot of ideas os x). anyway... here issue.. mouse pointer moves way fast. went system settings , mouse , touchpad see if change settings. acceleration , sensitivity properties both set lowest can be. why acceleration , sensitivity set lowest possible values mouse still moves @ 500 miles per hour? running ubuntu 12.04 lts , mouse logitech g700 gaming mouse.
