i'm guessing @ cause here. here's story far. have been setting htpc using ubuntu server , xbmc. has been working great. adding more services. have ftp, torrent, ssh, crashplan backup client, , samba server running great. yesterday decided try subsonic server. after following these directions: first, install java: sudo apt-get install openjdk-6-jre download subsonic .deb package , install it: sudo dpkg -i subsonic-x.x.deb noticed dramatic slowdown responsiveness of system on ssh higher cpu usage. after playing around subsonic on phones , tablets decided service not worth drain on system. attempted uninstall using: sudo apt-get remove openjdk-6-jre sudo apt-get remove subsonic after reboot still see same drain on system, looks there remnants of subsonic, , "top" reporting 15% cpu usage java when server sitting idle. sudo update-alternatives –config java shows 2 versions of java choose (6 , 7) still works, seems wrong.

when first boot , login gnome shell, if hit top left corner takes ages happen. stuck @ desktop , after many seconds overview open , carry on normal. every time hit corner on opens instantly. thing is, doesn't happen. 90% of time every boot , opens instantly first time. have no idea why. in fedora, kororaa, mageia , other opens instantly first time , every time, including when first booted. haven't installed much, dropbox really. dropbox have known issues shell? i have older laptop running intel 2 duo cpu t6500 @ 2.1 ghz 2.87 gb of usable memory , 32 bit operating syste.  since have upgraded lightroom 5.3, continually receive unknown error messages in develop mode.  recommendations 17" laptop has performance running lightroom , photoshop elements.  said, keep price of machine under $1,000.   thanks help. i won't point specific laptop (as have never bought one), know if want better performance, go memory , fastest cpu can afford, , 64bit operating system. in particular, if using relatively modern camera produces 16 megapixel (or larger) photos, i'm guessing limiting $1000 not laptop make happy lightroom. hi, tried first-time install of 12.04 64-bit (brand new hardware, no os, clean formatted drive) mixed success. couldn't make sense of various guides how set partitioning, references guided vs. manual partitioning not matching installation options presented, went default assumed same guided. installed usb stick had been set in windows. installation completed successfully, @ point prompted reboot. think screwed there removing usb stick, figuring necessary rebooting without trying reinstall. did so, kicked me out command line-like screen (i didn't make note of said) no options type anything. turn computer off @ point. can't boot or without usb stick. adobe creativecloud zeigt updates - installation unmöglich.   die installation startet und bricht dann irgendwann zum ende mit einer fehlermeldung ab. wird das programm creativecloud dann direkt heruntergeladen und gestartet (egal ob normal, oder als admin), bricht die installation wieder mit einer fehlermeldung ab. die meldung lautet: folgende probleme sind aufgetreten: creative cloud desktop konnte nicht installiert werden. es ist auch egal, ob eine firewall läuft oder nicht.   es ist nur möglich, auf abbr. zu klicken.   liebe leute von adobe, ich bin echt *genervt*. diese ganze cloudsache kostet micht mehr zeit als mir lieb ist. das programm auf dem rechner soll einfach nur laufen und nicht ständig mit einem solchen mist nerven.   hat da einer eine lösung? wird einem update für das update gearbeitet? *grummel* creative cloud cleaner tool   drüber bügeln und nochmal probieren. klar ist die situation nervig, aber ich glaube, die wand anschreien wäre fast effektiver als auf besserung

hello i photoshop elements 10 user since few years, , have never been able save (backup) organizer catalog external disk of dvd. everytime try, calculating necessary space, , stops @ 57%, nothing, no progress. application not hanged, can still close message window etc.  impossible backup catalog.  start, , otherwise catalog seems work fine. now have on 20,000 picture in catalog , spent lot of time tag, name, etc. bit worried lack of backup somewhere. any idea how fix (preferably version (10) of elements)? do think work better if installed lightroom , imported catalog there? understand lose face recognition/tagging quite handy... thank you! hello, any hint on this? it's problem not able backup, given time spent create, tag etc. pictures... thanks! why flash (latested version facebook , i.e 8) use bandwidth on facebook games? 4-5 hours of playing uses more 1 gb! have 20 gb cap , wife chewing 40-50 gb month , plays facebook games of day. log network use on computer , there nothing else comsuming signifigant bandwidth. tweaked performance settings , increased browser cache , others have suggested minor results. going broke , divroced because of flash!!!!! the player doesn't use bandwidth. facebook does. the player processes data sent , received facebook.   think of this: if charged more cable color programming, , turned color way down on tv color shows played in black , white, doesn't change content coming in through cable. way see it. tweaking flash player won't change amount of data facebook sends , receives games. perhaps idea find more productive use of time? so i'm in 8.1 , error when trying uses flash. this known problem internet explorer 11, microsoft has been aware of since october 18 when released latest "untested" browser. pages can't recognize browser, don't recognize of plugins, flash player. far, microsoft has made no indication have plan fix soon. microsoft's recommendation use compatibility view affected pages, , "pretend" you're using different browser. trouble has seen limited success @ best, , have individually enable every page has problems. i'm not big on "pretending" recommend using browser. firefox (from mozilla) opera (from opera) safari (from apple) chrome (from google) any of work ie11 won't, flash player plug-in (for other browsers) , , chrome doesn't need because has own flash player plugin built in.
