Classroom in a Book Lesson Files

i bought abobe premiere elemenets 12 , felt first time have used adobe premiere elements 12 classroom in book. have downloaded lessons peachpit.com gives files work on during each lesson. when trying open files in premiere elements doesn't find them in download folder on computer, unable open them in premiere elements. have tried moving these files other folders in computer , these still can't found when searching on premiere elements when trying add media. these files can seen when viewing them windows file explorer. there file in lesson 2, adobe premiere elements project , whenever open says media offline. able help?

there have been frequent problems lesson files classroom in book premiere elements (many versions).

 

putting history aside moment,

 

a. windows file fxplorer indicate download complete? (did have antivirus , firewalls turned off during download?) according windows file explorer there per publisher's instructions , directives?

 

b. how opening book's adobe premiere elements project (assumed project.prel file)? happens if right click @ hard drive save location should able see it, select open with, , premiere elements 12?

does open in premiere elements 12? if not, happens...error message or other?

 

if project opens "where file.....?", book instructions tell media files used in particular project?  top of "where file....?" message should show name of missing file, 1 project looking for. name of file or files being sought program?

 

when open new project , "import" source media project, copies of source media exist in project, , copies need trace originals @ hard drive save location. if save close project, move or delete source files hard drive save location after save/close, then, when reopen project greeted colorful media offline displays , "where file.....?" messages. use latter reconnect media project if media still exist , know are.

 

in case of book's setup, not sure

a. if meant media offline on purpose part of media reconnect exercise

b. else

 

as other book files being recognized windows file explorer , not premiere elements 12, properties of these files...jpg stills, videos...what seeing file extension these files?

 

we not adobe. and, not have classroom in book premiere elements 12 or other version of it. but, let see can put together.
