Using Smudge Tool on Pixelated Photos in a more efficient manner?

hello everyone! 

 

these forums have been useful me lately finding answers not-so-obvious photoshop solutions.  here's one:

 

i have photo pixelation.  more "speckled" doesn't need when zoomed in slightly.  can use smudge tool on areas mentioned , trick, amount of time take entire photo set me back.  not mention, have several of these photos edit.  outcome of doing manually, tedious.

 

so, there can produce same result smudge on entire image in quicker, more efficient, manner?

goodness.  that's hard 1 answer without seeing images. things try (depending on version of photoshop using.

 

copy layer , turn smart object, because that's sensible.

use camera raw filter, , apply negative clarity.  try using camera raw noise reduction using color sliders best effect.

 

this need masking out reclaim lost detail don't want lost, smart object comes own mask.

 

or use high pass filter mask important areas use variety of smoothing techniques on rest of image.  the4 second part of tutorial tells how
