Thread: Deleted a partition, computer won't boot


i repartitioning hard drive. had had backtrack on partition previously, deleted when upgraded ubuntu via flash drive because of networking issues 12.04. going use backtrack partition backup area reinstall windows 7 if windows 8 turns out suck. since windows disk manager wouldn't tell me partitions, went ubuntu. after deleting backtrack partition (/dev/sda4) rebooted go windows , upgrade. instead "grub rescue" command line. positive did not delete boot partition - 96 gb. before did disks, got error message saying ubuntu 12.10 has experienced internal error. reported , thought nothing of since system appeared continue working properly. on live usb. how remount everything?

know sure windows sda1, win recovery sda2, , ubuntu sda5. deleted sda4. please help!

actually, while in grub rescue did incredibly stupid. overwrote windows boot partition. oh well, @ least have disks need reinstall it, , didn't lose files can't live without, since i've had computer couple of months. looks i'll reinstalling now. anyway.
