Thread: Printing web pages problem

i have installed ubuntu 12.04 disc came 'linux complete manual' magazine, bought out of curiosity. on toshiba satellite l755 1gj laptop, sits pre-installed windows 7, 64 bit, dual boot.
install seemed go ok when started new os didn't feel right seemed better after few hours use.
added windows networked, hp 309a printer, via wlan same way connect laptop using windows (homegroup network, 2 lan connected desktop computers) connected ok , able print documents , web pages no apparent problems, once worked out how use printer in ubuntu.
looked adding firewall application, firestarter, recommended in magazine , followed install instructions magazine after downloading, done following instructions mag. there error on installing, not sure exactly, 'active connections'. going uninstal right away, program seemed ok not display active connections. not knowing if normal or not in instances went online , seemed ok. configured firewall, again following instructions, didn't work plan , connect internet using 'stop firewall, button.
uninstalled firewall , use internet again find printer doesn't print internet.
sends documents printer stack instead of completing task , end deleting them after 30 mins or so. restarting or shutting down doesn't push them through either.
going reinstall firewall , see if installed better etc. etc. thought had better ask few questions first rather digging deeper hole.
1 thing has occurred me while typing this, did not unconfigure firewall, before uninstalling it.
