Thread: Problem using update-manager ubuntu 12.10

hi guys. try update ubuntu 12.10 via update-manager, , following error message pops-up:

failed download repository information

check internet connection.

in detail, message:

html code:
w:failed fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/source/sources 404 not found , w:failed fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-amd64/packages 404 not found , w:failed fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-i386/packages 404 not found , e:some index files failed download. have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
someone me that. , yes, i'm newbie.

why have ubuntu-x ppa set up? ubuntu-x ppa isn't available quantal. (in fact, there hasn't been activity on ppa since march.)

can stop error message removing ppa. click "settings..." button in update manager. go "other software" tab. find 3 entries addresses matching ones in error message , either un-check or remove them.
