Thread: Can't connect to WLAN - WPA but shows as WEP

evening all

ran updates on machine few hours ago , following reboot fine. however, when connect net box locked , needed rebooting.

once had got desktop, wouldn't connect wireless. i've looked @ settings , i'm regularly prompted input wireless key, it's showing wep, not wpa2 should be.

in 'wireless network authentication required' window, i've inputted correct key , 'connect' button greyed out, if doesn't key i've entered.

i've tried deleting connection through connectin manager, i've tried 'forget connection' option still seems remembered or cached somewhere. i'm running 12.04.

i'm struggling bit this, can please advise?

[edit]

settings wlan connections must cached somewhere, i've tried removing network manager, rebooting, reinstalling via tethering mobile, rebooted again , whilst still not working remembered connection previous attempt @ setting manually wpa2 key opposed wep thinks needs.
