Sunflower dot pattern

anyone know how go creating mathematically precise sunflower pattern of dots in illustrator? looks basic idea create spiral arm of dots , rotate copies around central point, i'm not sure how far apart space dots , how rotate each arm make dots equally spaced.

i'm sure there plenty of resources or tools out there create precisely you're looking for.  if want manually, try spiral tool combined making brush out of spirals circles copied spirals.  each spiral rotated central point duplicate symbol.  it's difficult me explain verbally because don't know names of of illy's functions , toolsets essentially:

1) create spiral

2) create circle, square, or other shape copied onto spiral arm

3) make brush* contains shape step 2 copied onto spiral arm

4) create instances of spiral symbol shape brush onto artboard

5) rotate each 1 increment , make sure check math rotate number section of 360 degrees, depending on how spaced want spiral arms be.

* far brush concept may off base chime in correct methodology listed above.
