Thread: Why can't I SSH into a remote server?


im trying setup local machine machine in home. can connect remote machine through laptop can't pc. if disable firewall in pc (not remote machine im trying connect to) can connect. here result of iptables -l :



ssh port of pc have been set 777 , ssh port of remote server 999. why can't connect? there wrong firewall rules?

i've not had use iptables in decade, port 999 specified exception? edit: ah see; spt/dpt, you'd need dpt 999, rather spt 777, assume?
