Can't restore 9.5, can't uninstall, stuck in limbo!

i should have known better. had acrobat 9.5.2 installed, , happy it. view pdf docs, , scan scanner directly pdf document. after weeks of updater reminding me, let x1 install. dissapointment no longer scan directly pdf fioles scanner. wanted "go back", , trouble started. machine win-xp pro sr3. used windows restrore point go day before x1 upgrade. after doing that, acrobat 9.5x seemed work again, , scan pdf again scanner. thought done. then, after viewing document in acfrobat, realized lot of features wouldn't work, , i'd keep getting complaints plugins missing. next, downloaded full install acrobat 9.5.2 adobe , tried install scratch. tp 96% complete, , fail box saying "the product installed". next went windows control panel , tried remove acrobat, figuring install better if first removed. uninstall failed. upon attempting eremove acrobat (listed adobe reader 9.5.2), alert comes saying "the patch package cannot opened". i'm stuck in limbo, , i'll need expert manually remove product system, or find way fix it. naturally when got on adobe chat line, told wouldn't support latest product.

not sure xi referring to. sounds may reader. not queried upgrade xi. not sure how got reader mix.

 

if can open acrobat, go help>repair. if not, go start>control panel>add/remove programs (in xp). select acrobat 9 , use enter. should give options uninstall, modify, , repair. select repair , see if job. if works, open acrobat , go help>updates , update product. not have version of reader on system. if have reader, uninstall before proceeding acrobat issues.

 

if fails, use http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html , remove leftover parts of acrobat folder. reboot , install. open , updates. assuming have made backup cd or had original cd operation. make backup of software download (not on hd, cd and/or backup drive.
