i installed ubuntu on older vista dell computer (amd) partitioned 3 logical drives , 1 additional physical drive (1) defunct machine storage use only. created 26 g empty area on primary drive (0) ubuntu install. things went except although chose “alongside” dual boot menu never appeared , machine boots ubuntu time. c: partition vista os ok , can access ubuntu , move files no problems. want dual boot feature on network machine configured vista cohabit 5 other machines. have trouble configuring ubuntu network 2 unrelated reasons.
actually, want able boot c: drive in vista , despite growing admiration ubuntu, still want able revert (on machine) windows.
question how go getting dual boot feature without putting successful ubuntu installation @ risk. i've done lots of tweaking on , hate lose it. suspect might have happened ??? ubuntu install selected (1) drive dual boot instead of (0) drive. being old (really old) computer tech have sad history of messing master boot records , hate again. besides, understand hardware , leave software smarter fellows.
had reinstalled after removing (1) drive avoid confusing install wizard.

looks bootloader misconfigured.
in similar situation, ran

sudo update-grub
, found windows loader , added boot menu.

Encore "Encode failed" randomly

two full days (and partly nights) trying solve problem, reading every single topic on forum... thought i'd better ask question community before throwing pc  through window...   basically here history of problem :   i created encore project, containing 58 videos, organized in 14 menus. checked project : no errors. i tried build iso image : went 10 minutes, , of sudden encore crashed. i understood comes transcoding of videos , had manually.   as point should know videos created in premiere pro cc, encoded (through "export/media") adobe media encoder mpeg-dvd format , pal-dv pressets. when imported them first in encore cs6, timelines, video asset (mpeg video, m2v format) , audio asset (wav audio, wav format) have "don't transcode" status.   i right click on each individual asset, modify transcode settings "automatic", , ask "trancode now". and here issue : transcode, , not ! randomly... at end, can expect, have 1/3rd of assets trancoded , ...
