today we're pleased announce next version of flash player available immediate download.  update includes following new features , improvements:

 

new features:

 

• internet explorer 11 on windows 7 support

microsoft has released ie 11 on windows 7 , plan officially support in flash player 12.

• mac .pkg installation support

deploying flash player , keeping date critical task system administrators worldwide.  in flash player 11.9 added .pkg support ease of deployment.  in flash player 12, we've incorporated feedback system administrators improve workflow , ui.

 

• graphics: buffer usage flag stage3d

we've added new enum class called context3dbufferusage defines 2 constants, static_draw (default) , dynamic_draw.  these constants specify how buffers used in stage3d. we've added new parameter, called "bufferusage", constructors of vertexbuffer , indexbuffer. "bufferusage" parameter uses 1 of constants form context3dbufferusage, allow select appropriate buffer type according needs.

 

• stage3d creation of context3d profile arra

we've added new interface stage3d.requestcontext3dmatchingprofiles(profiles:vector.<string> ) create context3d highest level suitable profile in profile array,  based on current hardware.  developer can check newly added property 'profile' obtain current profile chosen flash runtime.

known issues:

 

• due recent issue discovered last released versions of flash player 11.9 (version 11.9.900.170 ) , flash player 12.0 ( version 12.0.043 ), audio or video playback when streaming on rtmfp based peer peer connection, including direct peer peer, ip multicast or app level multicast configurations, fail on ie 9 , ie 10 browsers. issue not affect firefox, chrome or safari browsers.
  
  

the fix made available in next flash player 12 update. until recommend users use alternate browser applications use p2p real time communications, including audio, video, data conferencing or chat applications.

 

the following behaviors modified in safari 6.1 , higher in safe mode:

 

• air badge installs - air badge installer not launch installer when running safari 7 in safe mode.  users instead see dialog link more details , workarounds on adobe website.
  
  
• adobe connect plug-in install - connect plug-in express install no longer work on safari 7 in safe mode.  users instead see dialog link more details on adobe website.
  
  
• flash player global settings - when users launches global settings menu flash player context menu on safari 7 in safe mode, user taken classic swf-based preferences menu on adobe website, instead of native flash player settings ui in macos control panel.
  
  
• localconnection - when localconnection constructed swf hosted in safe mode, may establish connection other swfs hosted in safe mode.  if localconnection constructed tab safe mode disabled, not able communicate swf in safe mode tab.

current flash player desktop users have enrolled in either "allow adobe install updates (recommended)" or "notify me install updates" update options receive update notification dialog within 7 days today (please note windows users need restart system receive notification dialog.)

please note both flash player google chrome , microsoft internet explorer windows 8 updated using different mechanisms.  flash player google chrome updates occur during regular chrome updates.  flash player updates internet explorer on windows 8 provided microsoft though windows automatic update feature.

on july 9th, 2013 changed version of our "extended support release" flash player 10.3 flash player 11.7 mac , windows. continue stay current available security updates need install 11.7 extended support release or update recent available release (11.9, etc.). full details, please see blog post:
