After effects cs6 explosion help

hi ,

i trying create boat explosion in front of 2 people have shot boat scene(without people) , 2 people converstaion seperately. have created exoplosion in after effects. need join these 2 videos , make explosion  appear in front of people. best can achieve this. have tried rotobrushing people scene, takes long , leaves me rouch edges.

i hope question clear. please suggest me want ?

if want explosion appear between people , boat need them on different layers. sounds starting down path production planning , execution lacking.

 

rotobrush or rotoscope hand option unless there way generate procedural matte or color key or of shot people in scene. screenshot or sample frame shot of people give idea of easiest way create matte.

there lots of resources rotobrush, can amazing job in skilled hands on right kind of footage. type rotobrush in search field @ top right corner of after effects project window , check out tuturials.
