Thread: Upgrade to SSD?

i'm thinking of upgrading harddrive ssd one.

machine dell inspirion e1505.

what's opinion?

gshould nice improvement. standard sata ssd drive work fine. friend has e1505 , replaced hd ssd. used have 1 too. replacing hard drive super easy.

however, know e1505 pretty old now, , you're still stuck old machine. ram maxes out @ 2gb. no webcam/built-in microphone. friend reports disappointed improvement in performance on e1505 upgrade: faster hd sure guess expecting instant on/off. maybe e1505 has 1.5mbps sata only, not sure.

might dig usb hard drive adapter or enclosure 2.5" drives can attach both drives @ same time clone existing drive ssd. 2.5" enclosures can had $5 usd give or take perhaps on ebay or elsewhere.

if e1505 doesn't have @ least core duo cpu, it's not worth spending money on unless upgrade cpu. if have celeron cpu, upgrade core duo or core 2 duo make nice speed improvement. cpu buried under keyboard in model , bit of pain - have upgraded couple of them.
