Thread: Create e2fsck output on autocheck

as intended, e2fsck runs automagically every 30-odd boots on system. have no problem that... i'm impatient. want progress bar or kind of output when runs on boot. (i hit esc when it's running.)

looking through man page, see this:

-c option causes e2fsck write completion information specified file descriptor progress of filesystem check can monitored. option typically used programs running e2fsck. if file descriptor specified 0, e2fsck print completion bar goes business. requires e2fsck running on video console or terminal. seems should have running

code:
e2fsck -c 0
which looks ideal, don't know e2fsck command being triggered alter it. (every time i've poked @ startup commands without knowing i'm doing i've ended borking system, i'm kind of leery of altering stuff willy-nilly.)

questions these:

1. command quoted above going give me desired behavior?
2. command being run can change it? (i'm running 10.04 still, imagine still unchanged.)

in advance!
