Thread: Can't install alternate CD from USB

hi im trying install ubuntu 12.04 full hard disk encryption.
after downloading , installing ubuntu live cd, learned truecrypt doesnt support full disk encryption on linux. learned best way "nearly full disk encryption" on ubuntu installing alternate install cd.
tried that, wrong cd reader/burner doesnt boot when insert cd.

thought here take .iso downloaded on unencrypted ubuntu system, use unetbootin make usb drive.

usb drive used same brand 1 know has worked previous ubuntu live system on same computer. used unetbootin usb, created windows time.

usb stick boots fine , through first couple of steps in installation process. however, after while "box" following error message

"load installer components cd

there problem reading data cd-rom. please make sure in drive. if retrying not work, should check integrity of cd-rom.
failed copy file cd-rom. retry? "

cant further.

googled lot , found page seems tackle problem:

http://www.dotkam.com/2010/11/29/ins...mage-from-usb/

tried said. after pressing tab, wrote

cdrom-detect/try-usb=true

without quotes because that's think right.

when press tab, there text saying

/ubnkern initrd=/ubninit vga=788 -- quiet

can removed. have tried both delete text before "--" , inserting cdrom-detect/try-usb=true before it.

idea of can wrong? full system encryption, or full possible. dont want encrypt /home folder. maybe isnt easiest way.

use sandisk usb sticks. know there problem u3 launcher on sandisks, never had remove u3 before similar disks, , alternate install boot up, dont think using u3 removal me.

or indication easier way appreciated
