Thread: network printer through netbook

hey.

have got used network printer school (an old hp 3600n), has network card. great.
can't place close wireless router - , running cable long way through house not option - have bit of difficulty connecting printer.

have old lenovo ideapad s10e netbooks, , wondered if possible somehow set netbook kind of transparent bridge between printer , wireless network?
there easy way this?

regards.
anders

does printer have usb port? parallel port? if usb, plug 1 of netbooks. if parallel only, can parallel usb adapter , use connect netbook. assume netbook has @ least 1 usb port.

anyway connect printer directly netbook. assume there operating system installed on netbook. (if not, install 1 of course.) connect netbook wireless network. - share printer on network. since don't know operating system installed on netbook, can't give exact instructions on how share. in ubuntu, it's pretty easy share printer on network.

option, if have spare router dd-wrt compatible, use router wireless bridge (or "client bridge"). can set dd-wrt. see if can find old g router linksys wrt54g - these reliable routers dd-wrt compatible , can had cheaply.

if can dd-wrt client bridge working, can connect printer 1 of router's lan ports , on primary network, if wired.
