Thread: Can no longer do ANYTHING from terminal after trying to install/uninstall JAVA

gawd hate java.

resolved: had install synaptic , reinstall apt, sudo - , im sure i'll have else thats missing... unless knows better way. boooo jre suck.

after trying put 7 jre on ubuntu 12.04.1 can not terminal - apt-get, reboot, sudo, etc -- uptime work. return 'command not found' rebuilt ubuntu on fri , needed pos java 1 stupid vpn program must have. sure paths, environment, etc or something, coming win background not sure how fix in ubuntu - please help.

yup confirmed java culprite (i hate java!)

here output when tried remove sudo (was gonna remove/add see if fixed it)

here output:
installarchives() failed: (reading database ...
dpkg: warning: files list file package `oracle-java7-installer' missing, assuming package has no files installed.

....and please love of god don't ever develop on o/s requires jre, kills babies.

if going try out removing , adding programs via synaptic see can should try doing programs less vital functioning of system apt , sudo. remove , reinstall silly game or something.

both sudo , apt essential synaptic function. removing them leave non-functional synaptic , no way recover. in other words pretty trash system. if lucky synaptic realise asking incredibly stupid , refuse it. if unlucky synaptic have requested.

perplexed problem java prompt try drastic removing apt , sudo.
