Thread: Installation help on 12.10


ok im looking install ubuntu on old desktop have , wiped hard drive. although dont know if ntfs right format thats is. downloaded version 'ubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386.iso' , opened winrar , put files in on dvd. thought had do. drive wiped , 'ready' pop in disk , says boot disk failure? ideas. did burn disk wrong? or not sure whats going on. ideas? im new linux not windows.

try using default windows burner.

also, if can, burn 12.04 cd. i've heard of lot of bugs in 12.10.

think ntfs work.
