Thread: Help with Directory Structure Naming

i'm trying copying photo collection of thousands of photos in folder structure single folder can @ managing collection via tagging rather having fixed folder structure. have looked @ several terminal commands , i'm getting understand(!) mean. however, fall down folder names - keep getting messages such no such file or directory - naming must wrong. keep trying different things /home/pictures/photos, or cd pictures , try photos/ or /photos/ i'm not getting right. latest failure is:

dad@dadubuntu:~$ find /home/pictures/photos -type f -exec cp {} /home/pictures/single folder/ \;
find: ‘/home/pictures/photos’: no such file or directory
dad@dadubuntu:~$

in pictures folder have photo collection in top level folder called photos. i'm trying copy files folder in pictures called single folder. appreciated have many photo files copy , paste - truely if can naming convention right.
