Thread: about using Microsoft Core Fonts license

hello

want ask package
https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/msttcorefonts/

, i'm not sure, think project microsoft started , finished,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/core_fonts_for_the_web
, in wikipedia said "these packages published freeware under proprietary license imposing restrictions on usage , distribution".

questions are:

1 - can download pack of fonts " microsoft core fonts " or not, in other words can install fonts in ubuntu or not? , pack legal or illegal, use? , violation copyright or not??

truetype core fonts web faq

truetype core fonts web eula

i'm sorry english, not native language, , can't understand end-user license agreement microsoft software

, package contain truetype fonts microsoft think
ubuntu restricted extras

, why statement "commonly used applications with restricted copyright " mean violation copyright ??

restricted not mean not legal or violation. means limited, , eula tells may , may not software.

example:
you may install , use unlimited number of copies of software product
but,
you may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble software product...
...and lastly,
should have questions concerning eula, or if desire contact microsoft reason, please contact microsoft subsidiary serving country, or write: microsoft sales information center/one microsoft way/redmond, wa 98052-6399.
