Thread: partition tables lost

i have dedicated server 2 500gb harddisks , partition tabels on both disks see lost.
@ least guy tech support there told me. strange situation, have not done sure.
not made backup on tables before ;o(((

have started reading through postings , have collected here found out , know old state - not much.

have box online booted recovery system.
there chance filesystem back?

there 6 gb ram , 2 500gb disks in box, installed ubuntu 8.04 default disk partioning settings proposed installation on /dev/sda. other drive kept unused time.

code:

also did smart testing , readout smartctl. output not show disk errors.

2nd disk /dev/sdb lateron put 1 max sized partion on it, formated ext3 , mounted it:

code:

is there way guess how pation tabels should be?
know exact size of disks, ram (thus swap size ubuntu 8.04 propose). , 2nd disk full ext3 partition.

chance?
