Thread: hidden files & backup files

i can't find info on anywhere, swear when used view hidden files in nautilus, showed ".name" ones (this have been in 10.04). shows backup "name~" files well. there loads of these automatically generated, , it's frustrating have wade through them in order work in hidden folders.

have been googling on place, can't find mentioning this. there way can view ".name" files , not "name~" ones?

nautilus shows files, including regular files when showing hidden files. reason backup files appear, because hidden files (they begin '.'). can use search function (top right corner) filter content

prefer command line displaying , filtering information, since it's more powerful
