Thread: System is not getting upgraded to 12.10


hi all,

have tried several times upgrade 12.04 12.10 , each time error , upgrade aborts.

have run do-release-upgrade terminal result:

code:
checking package manager  reading package lists... done  building dependency tree  reading state information... done  building data structures... done    calculating changes    calculating changes    upgrade not calculated    unrecoverable error detected while calculating upgrade:  e:unable correct problems, have held broken packages.    may due to:  * upgrading not yet released ubuntu version  * using not yet release ubuntu version  * non official software packages, not supplied ubuntu    if none of above points apply, inform problem typing command «ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core» on terminal.      restoring original state of system    cancelling  reading package lists... done  building dependency tree  reading state information... done  building data structures... done  === command detached window (fri nov  2 13:31:57 2012) ===  === command terminated exit status 1 (fri nov  2 13:31:58 2012) ===
note: above messages partially in spanish , have translated them. it's free translation, though, , different english ones, hope anyway.

have been updating 12.04 installation new updates using update-manager tool no issues. besides, apt-get install -f not seem detect problem fixed. have no idea preventing upgrade 12.10.

ideas anyone?

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

change each "precise" "quantal", , deactivate archives( ppa) untill upgrade made (to avoid conflicts)

possible reason non upgraded might system set use lts (watch synaptic tabs)
