Thread: Disappearing HD space...?

hi everyone,

i'm running file/web server using ubuntu 12.04 64bit. issue doesn't seem has server portion of server i'm posting here.

quick , dirty this: run os off of 60gb ssd, run command
code:
/sbin/fstrim -v /
daily via sudo's crontab. seems random, of hd space disappear , can't seem find out went. causes server functions stop working because there no room server write logs; ssh continues work, vnc not. here's 'df -h' looks when happens:

notice first hdd (/dev/sdd1) full.

run command 'sudo du -h --max-depth=1' @ '/' see if can idea space being eaten , produces this:

shows total of ~44gb taken (the 2.4tb raid volume on separate disks)....so taking of room?

if reboot computer, goes normal , 'df -h' looks so:

happens once every few weeks, , can't pinpoint causes it. ideas on going on here? taking time read this.

you can use baobab see directories taking space.

code:
sudo apt-get install baobab
