followed these steps upgrading:
1. updated software list:
code:
sudo apt-get update
2. upgraded current softwares (just safe):
code:
sudo apt-get upgrade
3. initialized updater:
code:
sudo update-manager -d
after updater gets necessary information error on "setting new software channels" stage:
invalid package information
after updating package information, essential package 'ubuntu-minimal' not located. may because have no official mirrors listed in software sources, or because of excessive load on mirror using. see /etc/apt/sources.list current list of configured software sources.
in case of overloaded mirror, may want try upgrade again later.
additional information:
1. using local mirror, http://mirror.dhakacom.com/ since official mirror, http://bd.archive.ubuntu.com/ (cname of mirror.ispros.com.bd) dead.
2. disabled ppa synaptic, did when upgrading 12.04 10.04.
