Thread: erased windows boot partition?

hello.
question regarding pc 2 hdd.

background (quick)
pc came windows 7 on 1 hdd , open slot second disk.
bought/plugged new hdd in open slot , installed windows 7 on 1 (long story, don't ask why)

during boot screen asking if wanted windows 7 or windows 7.

wanted install ubuntu 12 on original disk new installation of windows used more.

installing ubuntu chose wipe first hard drive , clean install (assuming boot alongside windows 7 have given me kinds of partition frustration)

pc boots straight ubuntu. hoping grub.
can see second disk windows files on can't boot.

i've tried:
-changing boot order in bios (bootmgr missing)
-recovery mode , bootrec.exe fixmbr etc on every other forum.

think happened boot partition (or sectors, not knowledgeable in how part works) on original disk , held boot information windows on second disk. possible?

have ubuntu 12 on 1 disk (formatted, clen install) , windows 7 on second disk.

love have grub menu asks os want boot. since last used ubuntu there seems have been swing grub grub2 don't know start.

have in mind there grub configuration file need add windows (on sdb) , fix it... don't know how this.

appreciated.
