Thread: can't ping outside domain

hi all

have debian desktop instance in corporate network. when give static ip, cannot ping or surf hosts outside domain.

if use dhcp, not have these issues.

thing noticed when use dhcp, default gateway populated in routes, can see via 'routes -n'.

when set ip statically, add route manually 'route add gw xxxx' command, not help.

name resoultion ok too, because ping command resolve ip address of site trying ping.

dhcp doing missing?

help, 1 has me mystified.

please ignore this, particular ip address using part of range configured on switch not allowed outside comms.
