Thread: sh and bash

what difference between sh , bash when using terminal?

did fresh install 64bit ubuntu added kde. made 2 accounts.

1st account sudo person , terminal shows "bash" @ top. show user@name$

2nd account regular daily use person , terminal shows "sh" @ top. not show user@name$. shows $.

why that? had 32bit 10.10 , don't think behaved that. if did never noticed.

sh (dash in case of ubuntu) , bash flavors of shell, there few others.
code:
cat /etc/shells
bash more feature rich call bloated (if that's possible in case of command line environment)
speaking bash , (da)sh similar syntactically , sh scripts more or less bash compatible, not other way around - bash specific syntax fail in sh.

apparently default shells user accounts in system different , have prompt set differently
