Thread: Files Saved to Local Machine Via Sambashare Are Set to Nobody:Nobody Access

i have little network set sambashare areas on main machine. problem when 1 of remote machines creates or updates file in sambashare area on main machine, file set owner , group access of "nobody".

when try access files in sambashare area on main machine, available me read-only. solution have reset permissions on main machine using chown or chmod recursively, that's far ideal.

how can stop remote machines changing access/permissions on files stored on main machine?

you can choose group , user share in smb.conf file, these fields (change create mask/directory mask preference):
code:
[myshare] comment = share #other fields here share path = /shares/myshare force user = thisuser force group = thisgroup
