Thread: HELP! Power cut during Ubuntu release update (from 11.10 to 12.04 LTS)

hello,

if me absolutely magic, because doing nut!

i updating version of ubuntu (on laptop doesn't have working battery) version 12.10 (oneiric ocelot) version 12.04 lts (precise pangolin) when power cut out! wasn't laptop @ exact moment power cut happened. however, believe install had downloaded , in next stage of process.

now, when turn computer goes through first stage normal (i.e. past dell load screen), past purple ubuntu screen (where white dots show loading) , past nvidia loading screen (with big nividia logo), before going black screen lines of white text (where won't load past). text follows:

fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/40-nonlatin.comf"' line 34: having multiple <family> in <alias> isn't supported , may not works expected

this message goes on 18 lines. then, "line 34" changes "line 63" 22 lines. "line 63" changes "line 73" 1 line. then, final line of text is:

* stopping system v runlevel compatibilityfonts-unfonts-core.conf", link [ ok ][ 42.464203] mmc0: timeout waiting hardware interrupt.orks expect

can or should start install again?

if awesome had stuff on laptop isn’t backed keep!
