Thread: No internet connection on install (12.10)

dear ubuntu-friends,

today decided reinstall old laptop running ubuntu 9.04 or something. anyway, when got window choose either try cd or install ubuntu, chose latter. however, said there no internet connection. @ first thought, i'll figure out after install tried move on clicking continue. nothing happened 20 minutes.

returned , entered try cd option see going on network connection. appeared there no problem whatsoever connection. post living prove of since still in try cd option.

on acer extensa 5220 laptop , never had troubles in past installing ubuntu , malfunctioning network connections. , since connection seems working fine don't think it's driver issues.

sum up: think problem two-fold. on 1 hand, can't continue installation because nothing happens when press continue. on other, installation process thinks not connected internet. , not sure how, if @ all, 2 related.

hope can point me in right direction. have been searching web, can't find answer. appreciated!

this issue met @ 12.10 beginning cycle, should not hit recent iso. if still have old installation, can fix 12.10 chrooting it. otherwise try boot on recovery mode, set network first, using command line fix installation.

note: time ago, when nm having troubles, i've discoved wicd, , still prefer (even wired network)
