Can't match end of slide to end of object (gap)? [Captivate 6]

lately seem having issue making end of slide match end of last object on slide. can see in attached image, longest item on timeline mouse click. (ignore shape on top; button has timing set display rest of slide. have tried set "specific time" , make short, did not affect outcome of problem.)

what drag slide length left , shorten match shorter length of mouse click. however, unable make slide duration shorter.

i think has audio added. have longer audio track added slide, , edited , shortened it. reason i'm doing because i'm showing single steps, , audio narration bunches bunch of steps @ once. i'm thinking maybe, though ausio shortened, captivate doesn't see "gap," , won't let me shirten clip because still thinks there's audio there? sometime fiddle around, , chop silence beginning , end of audio clip, , lets me drag bit further. in cases, here, example, don't have room more editing. audio clip pretty small now, , need little bit of silence remaining. problem throws project off, because when watch whole thing in 1 go, can create odd gaps, jumps, or silences. if tiny, makes things seem "off."

any idea how can fix this?

i have discovered if program won't let me drag slide on timeline further, shorten duration, can still achieve desired slide length (at least in instance) going properties, , changing time whatever duration. still odd, though.
