Thread: rsync help needed

i need exclude folders during rsync .but not work need guys


have cronjob

0,10,20,30,40,50 * * * * rsync -raz --progress --delete-after --exclude-from=/root/exclude.rsync /www/ root@vm03.xxxxomain.com:/www/ > /dev/null


/root/exclude.rsync file contains files excluded .
- /var/www/extranet/tmp/*
- /var/www/extranet/dvd/*


after doin tried create file in folder tmp been copied
need ideas or in part have done mistake .

plese use code tags round code postings - makes things easier read. click advanced while composing post , use # button on toolbar.

don't think * works in exclude file - try naming directory want exclude.
