How to resize a photo to inches, 6 x 4?

earlier posted same question , reply can't done in pe , have use crop resize. clicked answer answered question not sure , surprised pe cannot resize inches. searched further , found video on youtube demonstrated pe resize inches. steps in video were:

1. select resize, image.

2. document size:

     enter 6 width, 4 height , 300 resolution (for printing)

     check scale styles, constrains proportions, resample image, bicubic

3. pixel dimensions automatically changed 1800 width , 1200 height.

 

in video above steps worked. in pe, followed same steps document size width changed 2.99 after had entered 6 , pixel size width changed 897.

 

first, pe change resize inches reason pe 11 changes width after entering 6.

 

i hope pe expert respond.

as said, have crop image 6x4 aspect ratio in order 6x4 print no white borders.

 

it sounds haven't tried this.

 

if take image not 6x4 aspect ratio, case image, , resize, not 6x4, give else, give image same aspect ratio original, have seen. resize cannot 6x4 aspect ratio if image not 6x4 start (unless uncheck "constrain proportion" , not results, don't bother)
