Thread: Directly shutting the monitor down causing problems at resuming....


when suspend monitor clicking on suspend button on right top corner, suspends pretty fine.

when try suspend directly shutting monitor down, when processes running in it, causes problems @ resuming , requires hard boot @ many times.....when move screen up, there comes dim light on screen, nothing appears(black screen) , nothing........this not problem in 10.04, in 12.04 1 of many problems facing....somebody please help...!!


#still coursing myself upgrading 12.04......

you should /var/log/pm-suspend.log, dedicated log file suspend/resume actions. compare content both alternatives of suspend , see if there differences.
understanding shouldn't matter whether suspend menu or shutting down lid of laptop, knows?
happen when particular programs active or if programs active?
