hello all,

it's been many years since used red hat. due lot of win 7 crashes, i'm back!

loaded ubuntu on laptop. can wireless card work when booted off cd, loading correct driver. when let boot off hd, not seem want load driver. stalls out. alienware (dell) laptop, , broadcom wifi internal card.

looking @ when loads off cd, says driver location "bcmwl-kernel-source"

suggestions on how load wifi driver booting hd? have internet when plug in cat-5 router.

bcmwl-kernel-source package

install package computer
connect ethernet

code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source
reboot , see if internet work

if doesn't may need load proper kernel module

post results of
code:
lspci -nnk
so can advise load proper module.
should simple since worked on live usb

broadcom wifi cards common problem here

Encore "Encode failed" randomly

two full days (and partly nights) trying solve problem, reading every single topic on forum... thought i'd better ask question community before throwing pc  through window...   basically here history of problem :   i created encore project, containing 58 videos, organized in 14 menus. checked project : no errors. i tried build iso image : went 10 minutes, , of sudden encore crashed. i understood comes transcoding of videos , had manually.   as point should know videos created in premiere pro cc, encoded (through "export/media") adobe media encoder mpeg-dvd format , pal-dv pressets. when imported them first in encore cs6, timelines, video asset (mpeg video, m2v format) , audio asset (wav audio, wav format) have "don't transcode" status.   i right click on each individual asset, modify transcode settings "automatic", , ask "trancode now". and here issue : transcode, , not ! randomly... at end, can expect, have 1/3rd of assets trancoded , ...
