ok, mac guys out here. converted pc imac. have 3tb fusion - in pc have 6tb in (2) 3tb sata 7200 drives.  first drive hold 14 years of photography, while second hold 8 years of video. these active drive, use data on both in quite bit of different projects. these not archives or backups, usable libraries. question: these drives formatted ntfs - i'm not sure how them work mac. while can read them, can't write them. also, don't know mechanics or efficiencies of running ntfs drives in mac environment? looking real world advice. hi,   you can buy tuxera ntfs or paragon ntfs mac. can read , write ntfs disks. that's all, works. i have updated 5.3, , i'm having tagging issue never had before.   i'm not professional user, , not able tag photos @ upload. keep smart collection identifies images need tags , work out of clear backlog. in past, it's worked images disappear once add tags want , hit return.   in 5.3, works way few images, stops. images continue appear in grid display and, more puzzlingly , more disconcertingly, every image in collection, , happens in entire catalog, appears have inherited same set of tags applied last image or two.   when close , restart, behavior stops, returns again. i've tried rebooting not have impact.   the problem doesn't appear affecting tags on other images, it's startling see , makes impossible tag number of images without having retstart program every handful.   is else experiencing this? there solution?   thank you! is no 1 else seeing problem?   the possibility information on thousands of keyword-tagged files overwritten bug in software ...

hi. since i've changed dsl router comtrend ar-5387un, wifi connection has slowed down dramatically. i've measured speed in same place 2 laptops, 1 lubuntu , 1 windows 7, , result twice of pc connection. wifi card has ralink 3062 chipset , i'm using ubuntu 12.04, loads rt2800pci driver module. compatibility reasons 1 of laptops, wifi works in 54g mode. notice if the wifi bandwith fixed (12, 36, 48 or 54 instance), , not automatic, blocks connection in pc not in others. same pc , connection bandwith different router, hadn't have these problems. idea/suggestion ? in advance! edit 1 i've been playing around every possible router configuration , disabling pc's firewall, situation still persists. definetely, think it's related poor driver implementation... posted jason pierce my wifi card has ralink 3062 chipset , i'...

i using 12.04 ubuntu on asus and, since installed it, whenever update manager asks me update/upgrade states partial update/upgrade possible i've gone settings , ticked every possible box take updates possible servers , sources keeps on showing partial update possible.... had same issue? have tried opening terminal , running sudo apt-get update , possibly either sudo apt-get upgrade or sudo apt-get dist-upgrade ? sobald ich auf 'downlaod now' gehe,  "die seite kann nicht angezeigt werden". mein pc hat eine einwandfreie internetverbindung (sonst käme ich nicht auf diese seite hier), zumal ein update bei elements 12 wenige stunden vorher einwandfrei funktionierte.   gibt es eine möglichkeit, ein update auf einem datenträger zu bekommen?(dvd)? google translate:   “when go 'downlaod now', "the page can not displayed". my pc has internet connection (otherwise not come page here) especially since update in element 12 few hours earlier worked flawlessly.   is there way update on disk? (dvd)?”     the download executable, perhaps have internet security product blocking it.  try temporarily disabling such software before click on download now.  works ok me when tried it, us, anyway.  might try different browser in case in browser blocking it. i have bought new imac running mavericks , used migration assistant migrate old imac. i have switched ubuntu 10.10 12.04. after doing this, computer reboots several times day , has never acted way before. have average uptime of 3 weeks previous distros on same hardware. @ point can safely not temperature or fan related issue. when system reboots, restarts , stays stuck on normal motherboard boot screen. @ point hard reset , when comes on i'll see screenshot of monitor displaying @ moment reset. flashes on second , goes login screen.
