Premiere crashes, running and previewing slowly

hi all

 

any appreciated, understand it's broad subject covering media encoder , after effects premiere, hey.

 

 

system info

 

running adobe cs6 , have run , installed updates today.

 

windows 7

intel (r) core (tm) i7 cpu  920@ 2.67 ghz 2.67 ghz

ram 12gb

64 bit os

 

projects sit on raid drive, gspeed es - 5.5 tb

i have 20 gb free on computer drive, program files kept , 85 gb free on separate media cache drive.

i edit avchd files mostly, , add in ae comps can simple , complex vector based animations or screencasts , modified footage.

 

9gb of ram available adobe applications, i've set in ame preferences. use/share 6gb between applications believe it's capable of using.

 

i have mini preview windows set off, try , 'empty media disk cache' in ae possible.. other parts may need noting use cpu not gpu in ae, no box ticked in ae multi processing section , think thats it.

 

i've tried set settings keep running smooth possible, yet i'm finding have unresponsive programs, laggy play , seem forever waiting around computer render, or find files when 'media pending'. have wait seems way long, or if manually link things along crash! after effects had melt down , crashed , deleted project open @ time of crash, doing trying preview screen cast had time re mapping?!

 

i'm exporting 3 minute sequence clips , linked comps of manipulated screencasts , it's taking on 1 hour export. extreme! try not multi task, , close off as possible while working. (i use chrome , opens 10 things in task manager) when sent project ame, went across , said ready in status section, waited little , closed premiere, few apps open possible, premiere decided wasn't responsive have force quite did that, , project wouldnt render in ame after had happend had re send project. if ever go direct send projects ame progress bar goes on forever , can never manage anywhere start think loading project in way.

 

 

 

no matter seem have computer that's spending lot of time thinking , doing nothing! appreciated.

 

 

 

p.s file spoke earlier has encoded, time bar says 6s left , not move onto next sequence. need help!

this 1 tough.  without experiencing performance issues, without being able sit in front of machine , poke around...i don't have ideas.
