alpha channels

hi

 

can pls advise

 

a client of mine has supplied jpg of simple design on white background

 

the design multi-coloured gradient applied - , need apply solid single colour design

 

i used alpha channel separate design away background - making transparency

 

but can't apply solid single colour using layer mask - gradient of original design still being picked - pls see visual below

 

i'm sure there must simple fix - ideas appreciated

 

you can apply adjustment (curves or levels example) mask.

but making gray @ bottom black may affect edges @ top.

 

could please post (a lores of) original image?
