Thread: 64 bit nvidia driver display issue

i installed ubuntu 12.10 today on asus g73sw-a1. graphics card in nvidia geforce gtx 460m, downloaded linux drivers , installed them.

before installed them, default video driver let me view screen in 1920 x 1080 resolution, after i'm stuck 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600. can't see side bar, or top bar now.

when package installing said disabling nouveau in order continue , gave me errors kdms or something.

i'm not sure fix this, has me annoyed because can't believe break on me considering i've been windows user years , i've never had happen couldn't fix easily.

did check "additional drivers" in "settings" menu? or did install manually?
