Scripting and automation advice - Batch processing and final naming
right using actions automate creation of 3d mockups. actions work well, there seem limitations can't around , assume scripting need implement next.
here basic flow:
artwork created > saved dropbox folder
another mac watches folder > automator script runs > opens image ps droplet >
runs 1 action open , process 2 different 3d mockups
saves final mockup images new folder in dropbox
this works quite well, couple things:
- i can drop 1 image file @ time. more , first runs, rest ignored.
- when saving final mockup images, name of file name of mockup psd , overwrites each time.
i able drop many source image files dropbox folder , have automation go through each , every file. each final 3d mockup image saved original filename of source file image.
do need scripting this?
if matters using photoshop cs5 on mac osx 10.9.1. don't have javascript experience speak of, can figure things out little hand holding. can share ps action if helps.
thank you!

scripting solve these issues. i'm on win. don't think win has watch feature mac, wrong. have time-lapse camera set in use script check see if there new image. set 1 folder camera uploads. script set loop , check folder @ interval using sleep function. processes image , saves couple different folders. doing way, however, locks computer processing images. script, can have keep track of naming sequence.
edit: usinig hold folder, if there files in it, script process them. copy original files done folder ones in hold folder can deleted. processed images go folder.
