Thread: VMWARE Player 5, Can't Cut and Paste from linux host to guest

my host system:
o/s: ubuntu 12.04 (precise)
kernel: 3.2.0-32-generic-pae
cpu: intel(r) core(tm)2 quad cpu @ 2.40ghz
vmware player: 5.0.1 build-894247

my guest system:
o/s: windows xp professional version 2002 sp 3 updated nov-13, 2012
vmware tools: 9.2.2 build 893683 installed

problem: can't cut , paste or drag , drop files host guest. before installing vm player 5 , briefly when first installed new player.

when copy file folder on host , move guest window , click on engage mouse in guest system , paste, dialogue box host comes showing folder , contents being copied when process complete folder not appear in guest system, file folder pasting files displays windows wait icon , virtual cpu shoots 100% , remains there without completing until force shutdown.

process displayed in windows task manager "vmtoolsd.exe". on shutdown of guest file forced quit.

solutions i've tried:

i've un-installed , reinstalled vmware player bundle root in accordance mvware pdf manual no avail.

can please give me guidance. it's supposed work , did before.

works fine on system similar setup.

How to Grab email address from webform and insert into form action

Thread: "Broken" background image with Super Key
