Thread: Excessive power usage 12.10

i have lenovo x220 dual boots xubuntu 12.04 , 12.10. power consumption under 12.04, wifi off, 8 watts according powertop. fan exhaust cool. laptop gets fantastic battery life, 6-7 hours.

under 12.10, same software running , no wifi, powertop reports on 18-20 watts, fan runs @ high speed warm exhaust, , lousy battery life, 2-3 hours.

have tried

and suspended internal camera

any thoughts? there other similar reports, have yet see solution.

sorry, can't offer constructive this.

tried 12.10 while on laptop, found many bugs , crashes wiped , reinstalled 12.04

hope these issues sorted out before 13.04 arrives
